Zazou comes to visit

Zazou, commonly known as Sandra, is my oldest friend. We go back so far that we've most definitely seen each other in diapers (thankfully I have no real memory of this, hopefully neither has she.) We've been companions through the seemingly eternal struggle with the multiplications table in elementary school all the way up to high school where sadly, you still had to use your fingers solving 9x7.

I'll most certainly write a long heartfelt mushy post about my insane and incredible love for this unbelievably strong, hilarious, sarcastic and beautiful woman very soon. For now though, I'll just show you some pictures from when she made mine and Chummy's week by stepping into our wonderful London bubble for the weekend.

We started the weekend off with delicious sushi at Oxford street (it took me 19 years but yes I'm finally eating sushi and, would you believe it, I'm actually enjoying it.)

Saturday night; Dinner at Chiquito

We had the most incredible few days and I wish my little nugget could live here as well so our movie-nights, Friday-night-clubbing and sushi lunch-dates could be a part of my weekly schedule. But since that's not the case I'm so happy to have had this amazing weekend in London with my girls.

The Boat Race

Today was the day of the annual Boat Race between Cambridge and Oxford which I could luckily watch by walking only a couple of minutes down the street from where I live.

Me and Chummy were down by the riverside at around 3 pm and found ourselves bombarded with flags asking "which blue are you?"where the dark blue stands for Oxford and the lighter shade is Cambridge. The question of who we were rooting for was conveniently solved by being handed two Oxford flags by an overly enthusiastic woman shouting "Here, they're free!"

The riverside was really crowded and especially so when it started raining and about a thousand umbrellas struggled to also join the party. I however, despite the light rain, really enjoyed the excitement building up as race was about to start and was very happy taking part in something I've until today, only seen on TV.

Impossible not to smile while watching this fine dance routine

Oxford Team in the lead! (spoiler, they won)

Lots of boats tagging along behind the rowers

Go Oxford! Chummy was all excited (and a wee bit cold)

That Awkward Moment

Tonight me and Chummy took advantage of the fact that neither of us had to babysit and went to (finally) watch "That awkward moment". The movie was actually really good, (and no, not just because it starred Zac Efron, though it definitely helped). It was really funny throughout and succeeded to maintain just the right balance between reality and Nicolas Sparks novels, which I really enjoyed.

Chummy beyond excitement when our deliciousness finally arrived
