Today was the day of the annual Boat Race between Cambridge and Oxford which I could luckily watch by walking only a couple of minutes down the street from where I live.
Me and Chummy were down by the riverside at around 3 pm and found ourselves bombarded with flags asking "which blue are you?"where the dark blue stands for Oxford and the lighter shade is Cambridge. The question of who we were rooting for was conveniently solved by being handed two Oxford flags by an overly enthusiastic woman shouting "Here, they're free!"
The riverside was really crowded and especially so when it started raining and about a thousand umbrellas struggled to also join the party. I however, despite the light rain, really enjoyed the excitement building up as race was about to start and was very happy taking part in something I've until today, only seen on TV.
